When Aurora joined Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD as CCMR Director, she identified a gap that most districts hadn't addressed: student-athletes were navigating the college recruiting process entirely alone — missing eligibility windows, NCAA requirements, and scholarship opportunities because no one at the district level had built a system to guide them.
She built this comprehensive 20-slide workshop from scratch: target school selection, coach communication strategy, recruiting video guidance, NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA eligibility requirements, NIL awareness, campus visit preparation, and a hands-on session using the FieldLevel platform. It was delivered across all CFBISD high schools to students, coaches, and families.
This is what systems-level innovation looks like. A Chief Academic Officer sees the gap, designs the solution, and executes it in a way that expands student opportunity beyond what anyone else was doing — and does it in a way that scales across every campus.
